Meet Our Designers

Krista Leonard

Krista

Interior design has been my life for well over a decade. I have always had a passion for art & architecture, this passion steered me into the design profession. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Interior design through Mount Royal University, and then dabbled in a couple different facets of the industry. I became a part of Central Alberta Tile One’s design team in 2004.

My past design related jobs include furniture sales, managing a textile showroom, as well as kitchen & bath design. This relocated me to Central Alberta where I took a design position with a busy cabinet company. I have found that the flooring industry has been one of the most diverse & challenging sectors of the design world; it has definitely been the most rewarding job yet. I love to help clients to visualize their space by sketching diagrams and working with them to find suitable products to suit their lifestyle. Design is about so much more than matching colours; it is about making responsible choices when specifying products and determining your client's needs.

My favorite decorating style is traditional, but with a very eclectic twist. I have a passion for antiques and vintage items, and I like to pair these with contemporary furnishings and a strong use of colour.

It's hard to believe it has been 10 years since Shannon invited me to join the design team at Central Alberta Tile One. Bringing over 15 years of business and accounting experience with me, I eagerly joined his team in 2004. Possessing some drafting experience, having a natural ability to read blueprints and visualize spaces has been a great asset while designing for our customers. Though I am by nature a traditional person, my favorite decorating style would be modern/contemporary and I love to use the latest and newest products that arrive in the showroom.

10 Years ago I found myself looking for a new career and knew that I wanted it to be in the housing industry. My hobby at the time was spending my weekends visiting open houses and show homes. I loved looking at all the different house designs and decorating styles. Combining my hobby with my background in customer service, sales, marketing and management has led me to my favorite job here at Central Alberta Tile One.

I love helping clients find the perfect look and making their house a home. It is so rewarding to have a satisfied customer at the end of their project whether it is a new build or renovation. I have taken a Color Consultant course and would like to take an Interior Design course in the near future. My own personal style would be Traditional with a touch of Country and a love for the beauty of Natural Stone.

I have been involved in the building industry for the past 17 years; the last 9 have been spent working at Central Alberta Tile One. I got my start in the industry when my husband and I started our own contracting business; Combres Construction. Right from the beginning I enjoyed working with my clients to determine their personal style – I worked directly with them from the blueprint stage right through to their possession date, helping with all and any of their important decisions.

I have a passion for fashion design and enjoy spending my spare time sewing dance costumes. I feel that being on the pulse of current fashion trends crosses over into Interior Decorating and gives me an edge for coordinating colors and textures. My favorite aspect of my job is developing close customer relationships and having fun during appointments. There is nothing more rewarding then determining a client's personal style & carrying this through into their interior.

My favorite decorating style is Classic or Traditional with fresh Modern twists; you can never go wrong with timeless elegance.

Approximately 15 years ago I started my journey down the Interior Design & Decorating path. I began my journey with Cloverdale Paints and later moved on to Benjamin Moore. During my employment within the paint industry, I was able to greatly expand my knowledge within the design industry. In 2006, I chose to take my love for décor & design one step further, and earned my diploma in Interior Design from Sheffield School of Interior Design. I have been employed with Central Alberta Tile One for 4 years. With the ever changing design & décor industry, I am fortunate enough to learn something new every day! Although I LOVE all styles of design and color, my favorite would likely be Transitional or Contemporary.

Art and design had always been a passion of mine. I was able to take my love of design to Benjamin Moore where I could develop my career in decorating. After 7 years there, I took my experience to Central Alberta Tile One. I love it here! I get to learn new things every day and I get to help my customers find the ideal look for their space.

My personal style would be contemporary.
